I think they need to do away with the registry and let us live our lives to be productive citizens because it doesn’t work .it’s hard to find a place to live ,your not helping the world be a better place they are destroying it and making society turn against everyone in general

They should have better programs in place to truly allow those that did their time to get back into society not just get the right to vote back. Companies that claim to be felony friendly yet are family oriented won’t ever give someone convicted of a sex crime a chance to work even if the entire company is mainly adults working. We should have in placd like Germany where after 5 to 10 years of not commiting any new major offense. You can get your life back, no job will deny you if you have the qualifications, and sees that you haven’t done anything wrong for 5 to 10 years. We need that policy in place to actually give all with records something to work towards. Instead of only seeing dead ends and having the whole world turn into your prison nor have insane restrictions that land you back behind bars due to technical violations. If it’s non physical nor non violent then it should be a misdemeanor at best. In the end its not just the registry that needs to go its all the insane restrictions, the laws need redone, and companies need to all allow more chances if they need qualifications as well as don’t have anyone under 18 working for them. Allow real reintegration back into society and stop all the lip service given fir employment.

There is significant progress as long as we keep fighting for rights. However, it does not come cheap. Going to court with an effective attorney costs money.

NCRSOL memberships are one way in securing plaintiffs for a case to be filed. Donations are the other way to assist ensuring an attorney gets paid. Behind the scenes all the mountains of paperwork, printed copies for court, securing evidence, signed affidavits, and other administrative costs, expert witnesses, and so forth has an ability to win a civil lawsuit. If we continue to sue and win, it will eventually catch wind at the legislative level that their cruel and unjust laws will be overturned.

But the question all people on the registry should be asking themselves, “how much am I going to invest in order to get my life back to some sort of normalcy?” They key towards that success is membership retention and donations for something that you support and believe in.

I believe the funds and man power used to enforce a system that doesn’t work, would benefit each community in dramatic ways.

Overall, it will relieve the mental health of persons constrained to the power of these useless laws. It will create a better economy, it will produce more jobs, restore broken families, and give the offenders better opportunities to heal and interact more with the public.
