No doubt about it, the public needs to be made aware of the laws against these behaviors and the consequences. I seriously doubt that parents or teachers even knew the breadth of these laws or the seriousness of the punishments. These are innocent children making bad decisions with little to no forethought. A 17 year old boy, is just a boy. His brain is not fully developed by a long shot. As for the girls, it seems likely that they could be charged for creating child porn for profit, as I know of at least one other case where this occurred. And then they are also victims of blackmail and he tempted them initially with money. Just the exposure of this case, the guilt, the shame, the embarassment, the hopelessness he will be left with will be quite damaging for the totality of all involved families.

Are the teenage girls not themselves producing porn? Roughly the same age….and the male is the only one charged. 2 years or so difference in age…people maturing at different times, etc. Should that not be considered?
